On the Carquinez Straight, midway between San Francisco and the Delta, the Benicia Yacht Club is located directly next to the well-equipped Benicia Marina. There are a variety of nearby things to do and see unique to Benicia, the third city to incorporate in the State of California in 1851 and then became the state’s third capital city. Fine restaurants and shops abound to suit any taste, all within easy walking distance from the yacht club.
The 4th of July activities in downtown Benicia start a day early with a torchlight parade, live music and vendors down 2nd St. The fun and entertainment continue through the 4th, which wraps up with a fireworks display at dark.
