Known as "The Jewel of Northern California," the Petaluma Yacht Club sits on the historic Petaluma turning basin. When docked at the city owned docks, you are within walking distance of some of the best restaurants in Northern California. Also close by are cinemas, antique shops, art galleries and the famous Petaluma Museum. The Petaluma YC also hosts one of the most popular annual events in Petaluma - Memorial Day Weekend with food, cocktails, entertainment, games, costumes and contests. If you're looking to hang out with boaters, this is the place to be and promises to be a great event to kick-off summer. 

WEEKEND INFO: 

This event is Memorial Day Weekend. Petaluma YC extends an invitation  to all PICYA Member Clubs. Participation is limited to 150 participants.  It is an extremely popular event and fills up early each year. Yacht Clubs wishing to attend submit a group RSVP for all participants. Once their RSVP is accepted, the club submits a single check including pre-payment for all participants.

We are waiting for more specific details from Petaluma Yacht Club.

FACILITIES: City Dock Slips and anchoring in Turning Basin

APPROACH: For boaters coming from the South, plan to arrive at the Richmond-San Rafael  Bridge near beginning of flood tide. Follow the flood to marker 9 and all the way up the Petaluma River. It is about 15 miles up river. There are three bridges along  the route (101 Bridge fixed with 70 feet of vertical clearance; Haystack Landing Bridge closes for train crossing and D Street Bridge which requires advance scheduling). We will look into possibly having a convoy of boats from BBYC to  coordinate openings, etc.

PLEASE NOTE: 

Even though we are waiting for more details from Petaluma YC, if you are interested in participating, please fill out the sign up sheet on the BBYC website  ASAP. This will enable us to be able to respond quickly to the sign up request  from PYC and insure space for this cruise out. 

Contact Jeff Gray if you would like to participate as a “drive-In” cruiser or would like to crew on another boat, please let him know.  Also, Captains, let him know if you are willing to accept  guests on your vessels.
